30. The Suicide Machines “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden”
3rd wave ska is revered for its covers and this is no exception. The blend of the strings with the punk-infused ska goes just as good dipped in marinara sauce as the delicious cheese sticks that are on their way here right now. Sorry if that didn’t make sense, we’re really hungry.
29. The Selecter “Too Much Pressure”
There are lots of pressures in our life. You know what would decrease all of them? Moz sticks. Mom!!! Where are the sticks?!?!
28. We Are The Union “Morbid Obsessions”
Typically, cheese sticks are best eaten when feeling intense excitement and energy. Everybody knows that. However, “Morbid Obsessions” really shows that you can also eat crispy cow milk while feeling relaxed and warm inside. Put this song on, take a load off, and cram a load of solidified bovine discharge in your gullet.
27. The Planet Smashers “Unstoppable”
Some people say most ska songs sound the same. Well, we say you’re right. They all sound like we’re about to absolutely ruin a plate of cheese sticks.
26. The Arrogant Sons of Bitches “Nowhere”
Determining how well a ska song pairs with cheese sticks is a complicated science based on a multitude of factors. However, all of that is trumped by having a band member in a banana costume in the video. And this song has that in spades. Bring on the sticks!
25. The Aggrolites “Pound For Pound”
Our big brother put this one on. Then a weird smell came from his room and, while this song didn’t make us want cheese sticks at first, after a few minutes breathing directly under his door, we’re fucking starving.
24. The Pilfers “Legal Shot Pam Pam”
We have no clue what this song is about but our mom says we’re not allowed to listen to it, which makes it all the better to jam while chewing on cheese. Plus, the 7-minute runtime goes great with how we’re feeling after siphoning skunk-air from our bro’s door crack.
23. The Aquabats “Super Rad!”
This song is kind of childish. This is music for our little brother to eat mozzarella sticks to, not us. However, we can look back on this one and remember what it was like to be young and free. Unlike now. 5th grade is hard.
22. Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra “Pride Of Lions”
We don’t know if love for cheese sticks is international, but love for ska sure is. Ya know, for as much hate as ska gets, it’s great to see signs that the love people have for the genre is way stronger. Thanks to an inclusive community, ska legacy tours, along with media documenting and supporting the genre like the “In Defense of Ska” book/podcast and the “Pick it Up! – Ska in the ‘90s” documentary, the genre will never die. And neither will our love for mixing upstrokes and cheese sticks.
21. Five Iron Frenzy “A Flowery Song”
Oh my Gouda! This song is incredible for the very specific purpose of eating mozzarella fingers. It’s almost like it was created by some divine force for a destined purpose. Also, it’s the only music Steve’s weird religious mom is okay with us listening to.
