LOS ANGELES — Multidisciplinary artist Larry Berry is excited to see what completely irrelevant heated argument will take place in the comment section of a new Instagram post, eager sources confirmed.
“My work is a lot about my own struggles with mental health and the immense toll it can take on a person’s life,” Berry explained. “I find that it’s really helpful to bring people together who have similar struggles. If I can help just one person feel seen, then my work has been worth it. So you can imagine how excited I was when I saw a 50-comment conversation under a new piece about social anxiety. From what I can gather, the conversation is about how modern imperialism is really the result of refined sugars in our diets. That’s, um, that’s what the work is about for me.”
Livy Bolewitz, full-time comment warrior, shared her thoughts on irrelevant conversations in threads.
“Well, actually, arguing in the comment sections of social media posts is my art, okay?” said Bolewitz. “Your art isn’t more important than my art just because it has load-bearing ecumenical importance to the coastal elites. These kinds of conversations are necessary because how else will anyone know how important synergistic quandaries become their optimal selves because of RFK Jr. in this day and time? Oh, wait. He said he likes the comments? Well, whatever. What I said is still important.”
Devon Whitaker, a leading clinical psychologist, shared an expert opinion on what could be behind this trend.
“You know, with these comment warrior type arguments that get so out of hand they don’t even make sense anymore, it’s usually just mentally unwell people unwittingly arguing with bots,” said Whitaker. “And you can’t even really blame them. It’s not like anyone can afford a therapist right now. I think the best thing you can do is occasionally take a step back, take a breath, and say to yourself, ‘Is this comment about how I bet Shrek’s mom was a whore really relevant to this public health post about the importance of masks and hand washing?’ and then go for a walk.”
At press time, Berry is now realizing that, yeah, actually, their piece about seasonal depression does sort of have something to do with Hunter Biden’s hairline.
