LOS ANGELES — Glam-rock hitmakers Buckcherry are releasing a new double-disc concept album this fall, centered around a fictional protagonist receiving a blowjob, confirmed sources at F-Bomb Records.
“The idea came pretty easily to us,” said frontman Josh Todd. “After our last tour ended, I had a lot of free time, and I was getting a lot of blowjobs. We’ve written about blowjobs before, but I really wanted to explore it further. We all agreed a two-disc concept album about blowjobs was the right choice for Buckcherry.”
The album, entitled Mouth Planet, tells the story of 27-year-old small town barback named Jesse, who travels to New York to meet a cam girl.
“The first disc is about Jesse’s journey, and how he’s getting lots of blowjobs throughout his trip from random girls looking to get down. We explore the emotional themes of BJs — like, how sweet they feel, and how life can suck when you aren’t getting good head,” said guitarist Stevie D. “Disc two is when he finally meets this cam girl, and gets the best dome of his life. It’s really a meditation on how a good hummer can make your day.”
It’s been two years since Buckcherry released their last album, Rock ‘N’ Roll, and fans are eager for new material.
“All I listen to in my car is Buckcherry. I blast that shit in the parking lot before I go into work every day, just to pump myself up,” said fan Dustin Hurley. “Buck has always been there for me when I’ve been low — like when I got kicked out of my parents’ house, or when I got kicked out of my girlfriend’s house. Definitely amped about the new album.”
As part of the press release, Buckcherry also confirmed the band’s next planned project.
“We’ve been talking with Josey Scott from Saliva about writing a rock opera,” said Todd, “with each song centered around the common theme of convincing your girl to try anal.”
