29. Jamie McCrimmon
Jamie was a Scottish Highlander who knew how to have fun and fuck shit up, especially in the pit. He was last seen sword in hand charging a rogue pack of brit-punks.
28. Harry Sullivan
He witnessed the genesis of the Daleks and caught Richard Hell and the Voidoids first CBGB gig in ’76. Since the latter group inspired The Sex Pistols, it’s hard to say which did more damage.
27. Zoe Heriot
A genius from the late 21st century, Zoe delighted in traveling back to catch Television, The Talking Heads, and The Velvet Underground.
26. Steven Taylor
Steven was one of the first companions to openly challenge and disagree with the Doctor. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind and ask if stopping the Daleks was truly worth the loss of human life a given plan requires, or how he couldn’t see what was happening at CBGB was going to change rock forever.
25. Peri Brown
Peri had a rough go. She was the Doctor’s companion when he regenerated into the 6th Doctor, who was unstable at first and attempted to throttle her. To make matters worse, the Doctor took her to CBGB as a make-good and she was trampled nearly to death in an Agnostic Front pit.
24. 6th Doctor
The first time he went to CBGB everyone looked at his weird patchwork coat and thought “Is that cool?” but then the next time they were like “Nah, he’s a fucking dork” and he never went again.
23. Vislor Turlough
A double agent for the Black Guardian, Vislor was given two objectives: kill the Doctor, and stop the first wave of punk from ever happening. Turns out the Black Guardian was sort of a prog guy.
22. Jo Grant
Jo was in favor of The Master’s sentence of “Eternal suffering” but the Doctor argued the punishment was too severe even for him. This awoke a socio-political curiosity in Jo which drew her to bands like Bad Brains.
21. Martha Jones
She really, really tried to make herself get into punk, but once she lost her crush on the 10th Doctor and wasn’t obsessed with impressing him anymore, she moved on.
