Booing Fan Momentarily Conflicted When Wrestler Mentions His Hometown

A fan aggressively booing a Smackdown Live event last night was caught in a moment of confusion and internal conflict when one of his least favorite wrestlers mentioned the town in which he was born and raised on the microphone, sources confirm.

“I had my brat in one hand, my beer in the other, and I was ready to boo all night. This is what I do,” said Chicago native Todd Reed. “I was really letting Cena hear it; then this friggin’ bastard mentions the Cubs. Like it’s that easy to get a positive reaction from a Southsider like me. I was so mad I threw my brat on the ground and boy, you bet I booed as hard as I could.”

The arena joined Reed, erupting in negativity and “Cena Sucks” chants as Cena tried his best to pander to the audience for a cheap pop.

“Then out of nowhere, this guy brings up the Sox. Our White Sox,” said Reed’s wife Lucy. “I watched Todd pause for a second, and I couldn’t quite read the expression on his face. I thought he might be having another heart attack.”

Todd, along with thousands of others, tilted their heads as they tried to compute what was happening. But they were not prepared for what happened next.

“I couldn’t believe it, but Cena mentioned that Chicago has the best pizza in the world,” recalled an emotional Reed. “I don’t know if he realized it, but we were in Chicago at that very moment. I grew up here, and you can bet your ass we’ve got the best pizza in the world. Emotions just started rushing into me. My eyes started watering, and I let my beer drop to the floor so I could clap. I love this friggin’ place, you know?”

The Allstate Arena became a shrine of Chicago pride, with the loudest cheers of the night. The moment was short lived, however, as AJ Styles made his entrance to an even more thunderous ovation.

“Don’t get me wrong -I love Chicago, but I still hate Cena so much,” says Reed. “I don’t know him personally, but I know in my heart of hearts that he deserves to have his house burned to the ground. He just wins too much.”

Reed was also conflicted earlier in the night when The Miz made his entrance wearing a Chicago Bears jersey.
